I hope to have four days in Munich in September and would appreciate any
comment about in including a day trip to Landsberg in my itinerary. My
DK guide book describes it as "Straight out of a pictuire book!"
I see from the DB rail site that it is approximately 50 minutes from
Munich by train.
I am an older traveller who likes old buildings and history.
Any comment on Landsberg (or Munich) will be appreciated.
Thanks
PS. is the train station far from the town centre?

Landsburg am Lech is quite a pretty town along the Romantic Road. The
rail station is to the west of the River, the fascinating Mutterturm,
like something out of a Rapunzel fairytale is in the riverside green
park nearby, the old marketplace square is a walk across the bridge in
the main old town. The regional express train from Munich stops in
Kaufering and you change to an RB local train to Landsberg (Lech).
